Vicki Hillen from Murrells Inlet and Karen Ferree of Hilton Head shot 78 in the modified alternate-shot format to defend their title and win the 2003 WSCGA Team Championship. Hillen, the 2002 Match Play Champion, alongside her partner Ferree, the 2002 Stroke Play Champion, defeated Diane Belair and Karen Zeip of Myrtle Beach on the second playoff hole. Following Ferree’s excellent drive, Hillen’s approach landed stiff to the flagstick on #1 to virtually clinch the victory over her fellow Myrtle Beach residents.

Shortened to one round because of unplayable conditions on Thursday, the drenched Woodside Plantation Jones Course played long and difficult in the cold, wet weather on Friday.

Flight champions include: Cathy Hill and Kathy Cuppia, Teddy Stockwell and Laura Rawl, Shirley Lark and Elisabeth Baker, Deanna Wilson and Lola Bradshaw, Dee Mango and Patricia Peterson, and Stephanie Snyder and partner Jean Schlichte.
