Providing the opportunity for women
amateur golfers to compete on a state wide level is a major function of the
Women's South Carolina Golf Association.
ONE DAY
TOURNAMENTS
Regular members have
the opportunity to participate in approximately 26 one-day events held
throughout the year. These one day tournaments are scheduled monthly in
different areas of the state, affording members the chance to play at some of
the finest golf courses in South Carolina and to compete with players from all
over the state.
WSCGA
CHAMPIONSHIPS
All WSCGA
Championships are conducted under the direction of the WSCGA Executive Director
and local tournament committees.
- The Annual Team Competition
Kicks off the golfing season in early spring with a 2-day
partnership event.
- The Senior Championship
Is for players 50 years and older. They compete in a 36
hole stroke play competition.
- WSCGA Match Play Championship
Is held annually in Beaufort, SC. Match play is open to
all WSCGA regular and associate club members.
- The WSCGA Stroke Play Championship
Is played as stroke play and is recognized as the premier
women's golf championship for the state. The tournament travels to different clubs each year. Regular and associate
members with qualifying handicap indexes are invited to apply. In addition to the champion and flight
winners, the low net competitor is presented with the Myrtice Riccoboni Award.
- The Junior Girls State Championship
Has been sponsored by the WSCGA since 1989. The tournament
is open to any amateur junior girl player who is a legal resident of South Carolina and who will not be
18 years of age prior to the tournament date. For Complete Junior Girls

- Mixed Team Championship
Is a popular two day tournament playing one day of Four-Ball
Competition and one day of Modified Alternate Shot Competition.
