Nineteen year old Brittany Collins of Bluffton won the 2005 WSCGA Match Play Championship played at Lady’s Island Country Club in Bluffton. The medalist of Tuesday’s qualifying round with a 74, Collins went through her match play bracket with three consecutive 5 & 4 wins. In the process, she defeated former Stroke and Match Play Champion Lea Anne Brown. The final match was hindered by constant rain but Brittany defeated former four-time Match Play Champion Karin Wolfe by the same 5 & 4 margin. Collins played on Costal Carolinas golf team this past year, but will be transferring to New Mexico State in the fall.

Frankie Garber of Columbia won the 1st flight, Genon Krivohlavek from Orangeburg was the victor in the 2nd flight, and Tomi Dempsey, playing her home course was the winner of the 3rd flight.
