Cecilia Barksdale of Columbia defeated Karin Wolfe of Lexington 2 & 1 to capture the 2003 Match Play Championship. Wolfe, a four time Match Play Champion won tight matches over defending champion Vicki Hillen and USC rising sophomore Eric Battle to secure her spot in the final match. Barksdale, a long hitter, knew Karin would be solid and was not rattled by Wolfe’s excellent short game having played with her many times in the past. Barksdale stayed with her game plan and played steady, solid golf to win the Championship.

The low 15 from the qualifying round, along with the defending champion Vicki Hillen, made up the Championship division of the tournament.
