Hightower and Brown Repeat

Bubba Hightower from Moncks Corner and Lea Anne Brown from Mt. Pleasant continued their dominant play with a final round 68 for a total of 134 and an eight shot victory in the Championship Division of the 8th Annual Mixed Team Championship.

Playing a select drive alternate shot format, Hightower and Brown shot nines of 33 – 35 to win their second consecutive Mixed Team title. Dan and Tonya Cisle from Elgin finished eight shots back at 142.

In the Senior division, Steve and Diana Saine from Blythewood shot a division best round of one over par 72 for a two day total of 145 and a six shot victory. David and Donna Bailey from Kiawah tied the Pawleys Island team of Lanny Correll and Mary Bilotta for second place at 151. Defending champions and first round leaders, Sandy and Ronnie Knapp finished tied for 4th.

The 2005 SCGA~WSCGA Mixed Team Championship was played on the par 71, George Cobb designed South Carolina National Golf Club in Beaufort, SC. The field consisted of 85 man and woman teams split into Championship and Senior Divisions. The Mixed Team Championship is conducted by both the Women’s South Carolina Golf Association and the South Carolina Golf Association and is in its 8th year of existence.
