2002 WSCGA SENIOR CHAMPION LOUANNE GONSALVES (Pictured in the Center) |

Louanne Gonsalves of Hilton Head defeated Karen Ferree of Hilton Head and Sybil Davis of Spring Island in a two hole playoff to win the 2002 Senior Championship. Davis earned medallist honors with an opening round 76, and birdied the final hole of the tournament to force a playoff when Ferree double-bogied. But it was Gonsalves’ consistent play that carried her into, and eventually through, the tense extra holes. Karen Ferree was the defending champion. The event was contested at Belfair Plantation’s West Course in Bluffton.
Four-time overall senior champion Dori Bryant of Santee captured the Super-Senior Division. Other flight champions include Jessie Finucan, Andrea Lowry, Donna Bailey, Maxine Roof, and Jean Hillock
