A Tradition in Women's South Carolina Golf....... The Women's South Carolina Golf Association is a non-profit
organization founded in 1949. The WSCGA membership is
made up of local Women's Golf Associations throughout
the state. Membership has grown from the original 10
clubs to over 150 member associations with more than
14,000 women golfers receiving WSCGA handicaps.
Recognized throughout the United States as one of the
premiere Women's Golf Associations in the country, WSCGA
acts as an arm of the USGA in upholding traditions,
policies, and high values in regard to the great game of
golf.
Amateur women golfers are the core of the Women's South
Carolina Golf Association. The WSCGA Board of Governors is
comprised of women who are recommended by local associations
and voted on by the membership.
Each member association appoints a WSCGA representative and
handicap chairperson. The WSCGA Board of Governors meets
annually with the representatives and is always open to
their suggestions in determining WSCGA policies and
scheduling activities.
In addition, a WSCGA directory is published annually and
distributed to all member clubs. A quarterly news letter is
mailed to each club's representative.
The WSCGA also employs an Executive Director
to provide assistance and service to all members.
