Lea
Anne Brown is inducted into the South Carolina Golf
Hall of Fame

Lea Anne Brown
became the 60th golfer honored and the 14th female
member of the South Carolina Golf Hall of Fame. Lea
Anne was inducted on January 7th 2012 at Columbia
Country Club. Lea Anne was nominated by Sarah Ford
Rijswijk on behalf of the Women’s South Carolina Golf
Association.
She joins an elite group of ladies into the Hall
of Fame: Jane Covington, Carolyn Cudone, Katherine
Hemphill, Annette Roddey, Betsy Rawls, Kat Salley,
Walton Horton, Georgia Hart, Patsy Johnson, Beth
Daniel, Kathy Hite James, Kathy Baker and Vicki
Hillen.
Past Hall
of Famers, Jane Covington, Walton Horton, Kat Salley
and Kathy Hite James were present for the induction.

Fournil playing out of Forest Lake Club won
her second Women’s Stroke Play State Amateur
at the Daniel Island Club in Charleston. Fournil,
of Columbia, held the lead wire to wire and
finished two shots ahead of Catherine Shealy.
Shealy, also from Columbia finished with a 75-232
total, while three-time winner Lea Anne Brown
of Mt. Pleasant and Cathy Hill of Columbia tied
third at 233.
