Karen Ferree of Hilton Head Island won the 2008 Match Play Championship in a rematch of last year’s final. Karen defeated defending champion Donna Gonsalves, 4 and 3 to win her third Match Play Championship at Lady’s Island Country Club in Beaufort. Ferree also won in 1995 and 2001. Karen played consistent golf all week and kept the pace going into the final round for the victory.

In the Championship flight consolation final, Susan Harden defeated Louanne Gonsalves for the win. Nancy Newberry won the first flight with a 4 and 3 victory over Babs McIntosh, and Nancy Cobb beat Sybil Gardner to win the first flight consolation. The second flight winner was Francine Gaboriault defeating Ginger White, and Judy White won the second flight consolation over Meredith McKee
