Dawn
Woodard of Greer captured her first WSCGA Stroke Play Championship
winning the 2008 tournament played at the difficult 5839

four shots ahead of Aiken resident Whitney Simons, whom
she shared the lead with going into the third and final

but Woodard’s consistency paid off in the end with a second
straight 75 to secure the title. Simons finished with a
79. Wallace Hamerton from Bluffton finished third with a
235 and in fourth place was former champion Lea Venable
shooting a three day total of 239.

Miller of Taylors won the State Division by two shots over
Liz Scheuer from N. Augusta. Miller took control with a
first round 82 and held on to win the division. Susan Dauber
from Simpsonville finished third and Karren Peterson also
from Simpsonville was the fourth place finisher.
Brenda
Bauer from Columbia was the overall
net winner of the Riccoboni Trophy with a three day net
total of 226.

Holliday from Myrtle Beach. Sandy McKinney from Greer won
the third flight, and Carrel Westlake from Greenville was
