Aiken,
SC
64 teams competed in the 13th annual WSCGA State Team Championship
at Woodside Plantation in Aiken on March 12th and 13th.
Both the opening round four-ball format and the final round
modified alternate shot format were contested on Woodside’s
Jones Course. The team of Lea Anne Brown from Mt. Pleasant
and Wallace Hamerton of Bluffton won the Championship with
two consecutive rounds of 68. High school players Rachel
Uremovich from Hilton Head and Anna Martin from Piedmont
were the second place runner-up team with fine rounds of
70-71. Dawn Woodard from Greer and Cecilia Fournil shot
147 to finish in third place.
Flight champions include: 2nd flight: Susan Cummings/Barbara
Crowe Decko; 3rd flight: Dana Halliday/Tammy Merritt; 4th
flight: Marianne Frick/Nancy Cobb; 5th flight: June Somers/Margot
Forbell; 6th flight: Debbie Hassell/Cheryl Kelly.
