2011 Senior Championship Results

Karen Ferree claimed her fifth WSCGA Senior Championship in dramatic fashion by making a birdie on the final hole to edge defending championship Lea Anne Brown by one shot. Ferree entered the final round tied for the lead with Hilton Head Island’s Terrie Allemang and Myrtle Beach resident Inga Ivey after all three finished the opening with 79. Allemang finished third, four shots back and Jennifer Adams from Bluffton was fourth.

Marilyn Decko of Kiawah was the winner of the Senior Division Flight 2 by one shot over runner-up Barb Hocking from Greenville with a two day total 173. 3^rd place honors went to Donna Bailey from Kiawah Island.

Flight 3 was won by Yoshiko Mizuno of Greenville with Leah Bohen of Inman finishing second.Laura Rawl from Charleston came in third.

The winner of the Super-Senior division was Margaret O’Malley of Bluffton who finished with two day total of 159 with rounds of 78-81. Defending Champion, Karen Wolfe of Lexington finished with a two day total 164 and 5 shots back to finish as the runner-up. Nancy Dodge of Gilbert finished in third place.

The Flight 5 winner was Genon Krivohlavek from Orangeburg with rounds of 90-84 and two day total 174, four shots ahead of 2^nd place Mary Campbell of Myrtle Beach. Carole Davis of Charleston came in third.

The Super-Senior Division players were in flights 4 and 5 and played a shorter tee.

The WSCGA would like to thank the Callawassie Island Club, the staff and all of the members for their hospitality. The golf course was beautiful and in excellent shape.
