Kristin Wetzel of Hilton Head Island, SC was the medalist of US Girls Junior Qualifier that was held at Carmel Country Club in Charlotte, NC. The USGA Junior Girls’ Championship will be held July 18-23 at the Banbury Country Club in Eagle, Idaho. Wetzel qualified with a 71 to top the list of 44 participants who were vying for 8 available spots. Sara Hester was the only other South Carolinian to qualify at Carmel shooting a 77. Rachel Uremovich also of Hilton Head Island finished as 2nd alternate after a round of 78.
