COURSE RATING & MEASURING
Designated as official course
raters by the USGA, the WSCGA Rating Committee is comprised of trained
volunteers who have attended USGA seminars. They are also authorized to train
new candidates for the WSCGA rating team. The Rating Committee measures and
rates all new courses in South Carolina for women. Older courses are re-rated on
an on-going basis to comply with the USGA rating system. Member clubs should
notify the Rating committee whenever significant alterations are made to their
course for re-ratings.
WSCGA HANDICAP SERVICES
Realizing the importance of
accurate nationally accepted handicaps to amateur golfers, the WSCGA offers
handicap services to all women's golf associations in South Carolina. The WSCGA
uses the Golfnet Computerized Handicap System in conjunction with the South
Carolina Golf Association and the Carolinas Golf Association. In addition,
Golfnet also provides write-in handicap services.
ASSISTANCE FOR JUNIOR GOLF
The WSCGA provides monies to the
South Carolina female junior golfers in defraying tournament costs. The WSCGA
